STRENGTHS
- There has been limited evaluation on this prospect since he entered college in 2014/15 season
- He has battled nagging injuries since coming to Ohio State…and hasn’t seen the field since his freshman season
- Notes Below During Fresman Season
For now he is a reserve DT on the Buckeye DLine rotation…but look for his reserve
status to change some time soon in the near future
- He possesses a good build for additional weight to his frame…and his intensity & passion
for the game is similar to current NFL DLineman “J.J. Watt“…which gives an indication
of respect for Thompson’s game on the field!
- He is quick off the snap coming out of his stance…quickly initiating first contact with
blockers with excellent hand technique…allowing him to frequently gain the all important
balance & leverage advantage over opponents…especially being an undersized
DLineman
- He consistently gets good push upfield…disrupting running lanes and assisting on
collapsing the pocket from inside the hashes
- Despite being undersized…he surprisingly holds up well defending the run…which
compliments his ability to consistently gain the balance & leverage advantage over
opponents
- This is a prospect with a bright…bright future moving forward into the future
WEAKNESSES
- Further evaluation needed in this area of analysis
